ChorusPermit Process

The Chorus permit process is a process by which Equipment Suppliers and Service Providers can have equipment approved for connection to Chorus Copper Cables. The procedure is as follows:

1. The equipment is tested by an accredited Test Laboratory against the requirements of the C279:2008 Specification for Connection to Chorus Copper Cable.

2. The test report is forwarded with a ChorusPermit Application Form to Telecom Access Standards.

3. If the submission is satisfactory, an approval certificate (ChorusPermit) will be granted for the equipment, and the Chorus Permit holder will then be able to connect that equipment to Chorus cable pairs.

The processing fee for report assessment and administartion is $NZ500 + GST.
